#51 - Interview with Allison Fallon

This conversation was so personal, so vulnerable, and incredibly empowering. Join me today as I interview Allison Fallon, whose career as an author sparked from being a storyteller of her own life. As someone who grew up in the Evangelical Christian Community and was presented with a “golden path” to wholeness and salvation, Allison discovered along the way that to be true to her authentic self, she had to step away to create a life all her own. We discussed everything from religious trauma, to leaving an abusive marriage, and to all of the sexual shame and double standards that come with being a woman in this environment. Come with us as we honor the journey, emotions, and lessons during today’s episode of “Just What You Needed.”   Allison Fallon is an award-winning author, sought-after public speaker, and nationally recognized writing coach. She has coached hundreds of thousands of writers - from NYT Bestselling authors to total beginners to help them finally get their books written and on shelves. Her most recent book The Power of Writing Things Down walks anyone - even those who swear they aren't "real" writers - through a simple daily practice they can use to reduce anxiety, curb depression, improve their confidence and gain clarity in their life. She lives in Pasadena, California with her husband Matt and her daughter Nella.
