No Holden Back Episode: 53 Jeremy Ross - CBS 2 Chicago News Reporter

Excellent time chatting with former WILX NBC 10, (Lansing, MI)  coworker Jeremy Ross! We spent 2 years working together in Lansing, and had some great times!! Jeremy is a Michigan native, from suburban Detroit, he attended the University of Michigan and later, earned his Master's Degree from Medill School of Broadcasting at Northwestern University! While at the University of Michigan, he worked several Michigan hockey games as the radio and TV play by play announcer, he was there during the mid to late 90's, a great era in Michigan hockey history! His stories of interviewing and meeting legendary head coach Red Berenson are tremendous! His first job in the business was working for Leo Burnett, a major advertising agency, after that he began his journey as an award winning news reporter/journalist in Lansing at WILX, we talked about several key moments and times in his career there. From Lansing, it was off to Milwaukee, and that stop in Jeremy's career was also very instrumental in his career as well. These days he's working in Chicago and we got in depth on what it's been like working in a Top 5 market, and what it's been like throughout the COVID 19 pandemic, protests and riots, very interesting to hear Jeremy talk about what that's been like!! He's also a huge fan of dogs and sports cards, great listen with a great guy and very talented reporter!! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
