What Is Moral Grandstanding with Justin Tosi a Brandon Warmke.

Justin Tosi and Brandon Warmke talk about their new book Grandstanding: The Use and Abuse of Moral Talk on this episode. They explain how moral grandstanding differs from other vices like hypocrisy, and how it’s not the same as virtue signaling. They talk about psychological research that they have done with Joshua Green to create the grandstanding scale, which measures the motives for grandstanding, namely, prestige and dominance. Their findings suggest that the most partisan people are the most likely to engage in moral grandstanding.
