No Player Will Be Above the Team

After the conclusion of last season, the deep-rooted issues at Paris Saint-Germain were glaring to most supporters. Now, on the brink of pre-season, many of those issues have surprisingly been addressed and a new era at the club has begun. On this live episode of PSG Talking, recorded via Twitter Spaces, I'm joined by my co-host, Marc Damon, to break down the news of Christophe Galtier officially becoming PSG's manager after the dismissal of Mauricio Pochettino. We discuss his press conference, which included an interesting comment about how "no single player will be above the team." Was that a veiled threat toward some of PSG's superstar players? Galtier, who hails from Marseille, signed a two-year contract with PSG and will need to get to work quickly in what is a unique UEFA World Cup year. We discuss possible formations, what to expect in Ligue 1 play, and whether his inexperience in the UEFA Champions League could come back to haunt the capital club. After Marc and I bloviate for a while, we invite listeners onto the show to share their opinion on Galtier, PSG's new sporting director, Luis Campos, the club's lone signing so far this summer, and so much more. As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. We’re also on Discord!
