In the first half of 2022, independent engine maker Cummins Inc. supplied a leading 47,713 Class 8 diesel engines, or 35.5% of the 134,373 used, Wards Intelligence reported. Detroit Diesel, a brand of Daimler Truck North America, was next highest, supplying 40,632 Class 8 engines for a 30.2% share.
