Disrupting Bottlenecks In The $300 B Automotive Electronics Industry

This conversation is between Dipanjan Gope, founder and CEO of SimYog Technology and Suryaprakash Konanuru, CTO at Ideaspring Capital. Dipanjan, a PhD in electrical engineering, is an assistant professor at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, where he founded SimYog, which offers system-level design and sign-off tools for automotive electronics, a 300 billion dollar industry annually, which sees billions lost every year due to inefficiencies in design, prototyping, and testing. Over a century ago, Henry Ford’s Model T transformed the automobile industry with mass-produced cars that even the middle-class could afford. Today, the industry is undergoing a comparable change, as it begins a major shift towards: • electric vehicles, • “connected” cars, • the advent of self-driving, or “autonomous” vehicles. All of this heavily depends on electronic systems which play an increasing role in the automotive industry which brings with it it's own problems of designing, prototyping, and increased time to go to market, which SimYog is attempting to solve. In this episode, we discuss ways to optimize this, its impact on the industry, and a whole lot more. If you liked this episode, please subscribe to the show.
