132. Family Breakfasts: What We're Doing Instead of Family Dinners

We are switching things up and doing things just a little bit differently today, as we are pretty much focusing almost this entire episode on something that has been saving our lives recently – family breakfast! We first got the idea of doing family breakfasts several years ago because our kids had various activities going on in the evenings, so it was hard for us to eat dinners together. Since we still wanted to eat a meal together, we decided that it was easier to do it in the mornings!

Family breakfast is something that we have really been committing to lately, and because good habits build good habits, it has been starting our days off on the right foot. We have found that our mornings have been more structured and organized, with a lot more getting done. It has also been so nice having that time together as a family at the very beginning of the day.

It's worth noting, however, that when we first put family breakfast into place, we did so by calling a family meeting. Our plan was to ask our kids what they thought of the idea of family breakfast, but they beat us to the chase and suggested it before we did! We have found that family meetings can be a very helpful thing if there is a problem that needs to be addressed. It allows for open discussion and for different solutions to be offered, and it's definitely something that we suggest to you if you're finding that there is something that isn't working in your home.

Is there anything creative like family breakfast that you do with your family? Do you have any tips or strategies of your own that you would like to share? How do you start your day off on the right foot? I would love to hear from you!
