Sheyla Ravelo Perez was born in San Antonio de Los Baños, Cuba but immigrated to the United States when she was four years old.

She is a first-generation college student and attends the University of Florida, a top 5 ranked public university, where she is set to graduate with honors this December.

An environmental activist, Sheyla has partnered with several organizations to promote her platform of sustainability, conservation, and social responsibility. She is a Global Cleanup Ambassador for the international environmental organization Earth Day as well as a Brand Ambassador for Queenly, an online formalwear marketplace that promotes sustainable fashion consumption.

In her free time, she loves dancing, solving jigsaw puzzles, and exploring the great outdoors.
