✔️ Divorce is just a circumstance. “Most of the thoughts we serve ourselves are lies,” says Amy Sanders. Divorcees tend to mull on the negative stigma surrounding their separation. But we have the power to flip it into an opportunity for introspection and growth.

✔️ The only person we can control is ourselves. Once you take this approach for every choice you make – whether it’s co-parenting or getting that settlement done – you start to appreciate the things you GET to do.

✔️ Acknowledge your emotions. What’s our first instinct when a wave of anxiety or sadness comes crashing in? We resist it. But Amy Sanders teaches us to let the emotion in, recognize its presence, and consciously choose to not let it ruin our day.

✔️ If the thought doesn’t serve you, pick a new one. Negative thoughts can be caught and steered in another direction, such as a bridge thought – recognize the difficult process and see the bright side.

✔️ Our feelings are ours. Nobody can hurt them but ourselves. Other people’s words and actions hurt if we allow them to. Let people say what they want and stand your ground. If you know the truth, keep your head high.

✔️ Wellness is all-encompassing. Stay hydrated, do your skincare, eat whole foods, and always keep your emotions in check. The sooner you get your emotional aspect in order, the quicker that illnesses will subside – or be prevented.
