On this episode of Expanded Perspectives, the guys start the show off by talking about the upcoming archery season and how they are ready to do some much-needed hunting and time in the woods. Then, a central Texas resident walking in the rural countryside with his dog when he suddenly encounters two large coyotes crossing the road, but one of them morphs into a NOT DEER! Next, a listener writes into the show about a strange ghost encounter while back in college while preparing for Halloween.

After the break, Cam brings up some strange stories involving cornfields. Why are cornfields so darn creepy? Within the sub-genre of rural horror, sometimes cornfields are used as an easy way to add atmosphere to the film. Other times, the land is crucial to the happenings of the characters' story, or a terrifying maze where it's nearly impossible to stay hidden. The corn creates a feeling of claustrophobia, while also providing no shelter for the subject lost in the corn. Corn grows tall and endlessly, creating an inescapable ocean of pale yellow - it's easy to get trapped. A fear of cornfields is called Navarrofobia!
