Born to parents who were corporate professionals, Bollywood was not the first career option for him but his family lineage to famous Bollywood producers probably got him interested in filmmaking. He went to start his career as an Assistant director on Sudhir Mishra’s film ‘Is Raat ki Subh Nahi’ and went on to direct films like Kal Ho Na Ho, Salaam-e-Ishq”, Chandni Chowk to China, to name a few. Today, he is a producer and screenwriter. He is co-founder of Emmay Entertainment, a motion picture production house. Some of the films he has produced are Airlift, Lucknow Central, Batla House just to name a few. His upcoming movies are Satyameva Jayate 2 and Bell Bottom.
