How to Survive the Holidays After a Divorce

The holidays are the hardest time of year for many of us, especially for those who are facing divorce or are already on the other side.

You may be worrying about which family to spend it with and where to go. But all you truly want is peace, joy, and freedom.

This time of year is your chance to change traditions and create something of your own.

Tune in to this episode on How to Survive the Holidays After a Divorce.

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ Being alone is a choice. If you don’t want to feel lonely, call a friend and join in their celebrations. It might feel awkward at first, but there’s NO golden rule of who and where you should be spending your holidays.

✔️ Find what excites you about the holidays. Christmas-themed movies? Light shows? Hot chocolate? Do all your favorite things with your kids. Carry a positive energy that you can pass on to them.

✔️ Think about ways to make this time special. If your children don’t like turkey and prefer steak instead, cook it! If they’re free on other days, so what? What matters is the tradition you create.

✔️ Be gentle with yourself. What will make the holidays memorable for you? Give yourself care and love. Create memories that people will fondly look back on.
