Manhunter

We hunted the man, and we found not only director Michael Mann, but also Mark! He's back to talk about why he loves Hannibal and tell us stories of the old days when he saw this movie in the theater and it only cost a nickel! Also Melissa and Brooke have no names in this episode and are only "Female Podcast Host 1 and 2" per Michael Mann's moviemaking directions. We also talk about Ted Lasso and Yellowstone and Dino de Laurentis. You're also going to want to stick around to hear the box office for this movie and the 20 other movies out that week. It will make you understand why this got relegated to "cult" status. Also, that scene with the tiger! And colors that mean things! And weird shootouts at the end! We're going to watch this same story several times, so get ready to compare which is better.

Thanks to D9 for his music! Go subscribe to his YouTube channel for daily beats and livestreams with retro gaming! His song "Sliding" is featured on this week's episode. Go listen to it! It will make you feel feelings! (And the opening theme song for the Hannibal series is "Lotion" by The Greenskeepers because I know everyone is going to ask what that song is.)

Next week prepare for The Silence of the Lambs by checking out Blank Check's episode with Emily Vanderwerff and for even more homework, her article "How do you solve a problematic movie?" on Vox which starts with "I am a trans woman, and I love The Silence of the Lambs. I know, I know, I know. I shouldn’t." And it only gets better from there.
