In a press release, The Giving Block estimates that 2021 has represented the highest amount of cryptocurrency donations in any year and expects to 2022 to be even higher. Private Foundations Announce Plans To Give $Billions Towards Food, Health, & Climate Projects At UN General Assembly

Private philanthropic foundations including the Gates Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, and others have announced sweeping investments in protecting global infrastructure particularly around nutrition, vaccine access, and climate mitigation. The announcement came at the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York, the yearly and preeminent global meeting of world leaders. The announced projects coincide with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs which seek to guide global efforts to address systemic issues.
