Bandon, OR - Everything You Want to Know About Pudding (But Were Afraid to Ask)

Welcome to Bandon, Oregon, the cranberry capital of Oregon!  Located on Oregon's Southern Coast at the mouth of the Coquille River,the town is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area.  The area at the mouth of the river was originally inhabited by the Coquille people prior to 1850.  The current town was founded by George Bennett in 1873.  Cranberry farming was introduced into the area in 1885 by Charles McFarlin when his dreams of finding riches in the California Gold Rush didn't pan out.  Cranberries had been cultivated in the area ever since.  The area is also the location for Jules Verne science fiction novel, The Begum's Fortune. The fictional town's name is Ville-France.  We hope you enjoy our trip to this charming little seaside town!
