Hiking with Your Teen… The Arizona Trail with Charlotte Clews and Daughter Georgia

Charlotte (46) and Georgia (13) hiked 789 miles from Mexico to Utah. It all started with boredom. Georgia was bored of being stuck at home looking at a screen due to pandemic measures. And her mom Charlotte, an experienced hiker and runner had the idea to go on a hike. The Arizona Trail, as it is called, turned out to be a crazy, amazing trip. Meeting only other hikers along the way, they experience the diversity of the Arizona landscape, adjusted to the hard conditions, and bonded deeply. She has a B.S. in ecology and evolutionary biology from Cornell University and a M.S. in botany from the University of Vermont. In 2020 Charlotte started guiding wilderness trips for Maine tweens and teens. Georgia is her 13 year old daughter.
