Layla is a strong, resilient woman with an incredible history and much wisdom to share. She's been a firefighter for 8 years. She played rugby for Wales for 12 years at an international level playing the Six Nations. She shares the trials and tribulations of that experience. Her mother, in 2015, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, 4 years later, she decided to end her own life on her terms, Layla discusses that journey. 2015 was a hell of a year, much happened and much that defined her dropped from the rugby team due to injuries. My mother was diagnosed with motor neuron she had a number of fatalities within her firefighting life within for a four week period she bought an utterly dilapidated house in that same period and bought a very large CrossFit box with two, dear friends, Leila has navigated an incredible year of COVID, she has so much to offer, so many reflections on mental health, physical health, how to adapt how to overcome what it is to have such a community and incredible support, the journey with her mother is just so powerful and so very vulnerable and I welcome you to this conversation with Layla and I'm so privileged and pleased to, to bring this to you and the one of the most gorgeous things is that Laila, and her.
