Finding Comfort In The Dark

Are you finding yourself in seasons of darkness?


You’re doing all the things to better your life and become the best version of yourself; yes, that’s all beautiful, amazing and great. But what happens when you have seasons where you backslide? Some people can take those seasons and fall deep into this self-fulfilling prophecy of, “I knew I wasn’t good enough. Man, I can’t believe I’m going backwards.” Oftentimes that debilitating shame can stop you from getting back on the wagon and back into it.


I want to normalize finding comfort in the dark.


Non-stop growth is cancer. This isn’t something we want for our lives and journeys but so many of us view our personal development journey in that light; we want to see it constantly get better and during the times it is not getting better, we make it mean something about ourselves.


So how can we find comfort in the dark? It comes down to three things:


✨Becoming aware and understanding the purpose of dark seasons

✨Not rejecting the present but rather loving what is

✨Sitting with yourself in these seasons to integrate and trust that you know what you need


Normalize the dark seasons, if you’re in one right now just know that I see you and hear you and feel you. The more that we accept that this is where we’re at and we’re meeting ourselves there, the faster it will pass and the more wisdom you’ll receive from it.
