Falcons stay with Power 5 players in 2023 draft

The Atlanta Falcons picked in the top 10 for the 27th time in franchise history and selected Texas running back Bijan Robinson. He was rated as the No. 2 player in the draft by ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay. After the first, the Falcons stayed with players from Power 5 conference schools. They took players from the ACC, Big 10, Pac 12 and two from the SEC. They choose three offensive and three defensive players. Robinson and second-round pick Matthew Bergeron are projected to be starters, while defensive Zach Harrison should contribute to the defensive line rotation. Fourth-round pick cornerback Clark Phillips III and seventh-round pick safety DeMarcco Hellams could contribute on special teams right away. Phillips looks like a nickel back. Offensive guard Jovaughn Gwyn could provide center/guard depth. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
