Training Expectations and When to Stop for the Day
- Dogs thrive off of praise and success
- Communication and the One Direction One Correction Concept
- Find and do things the dog is good at in between introducing something new
- At the completion of a difficult task (old or new) give the dog a lot of praise
- Dogs build apprehension in failure and stress
- The longer a dog is under stress the more negative association the dog will have with the new task
- Don’t expect too much too fast from your dog
- Overcoming apprehension to stress through training success
- Always end on a positive note (successful completion)
