Dr.Hardin - Charter School Impact on Housing Premiums | Ep. 63

Dr. William G. Hardin lll was appointed Interim Dean of the College of Business from Florida International University in May of 2021. In 2020, Hardin was ranked No. 3 in the world for real estate research productivity from 2015 – 2019 by the Real Estate Academic Leadership (REAL) Author Rankings. Over the course of a 20-year academic career, Hardin has authored or co-authored 50 papers on topics including commercial real estate investment, foreclosures, corporate governance, residential real estate, and REIT financial structure.

Dr. Hardin joins us to discuss his recent study, The Housing Price Premium Associated with Charter Schools. This existing literature documents the relationship between public school quality and a residential real estate price premium. Hardin discusses how charter schools impact the residential real estate market here in Miami-Dade and Broward County areas.
