Seena Hodges on what it takes to go from ally to accomplice
Seena Hodges is working to help people understand the effects of racism and injustice in many workplaces today.
Hodges started her business “The Woke Coach” in 2018 and works with businesses that range from small nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies — and clients who are willing to reflect on their biases and work to use their privilege to benefit others.
MPR News host Angela Davis talks to Seena Hodges about her work to create racial equity in the workplace, what it means to be “woke” and the role the arts can play in helping us understand others better.
Seena Hodges is the founder and CEO of “The Woke Coach.” She is an anti-racism training consultant who is focused on creating racial equity. Seena is a Member of the Board of Trustees at the Walker Art Center — formally president of the Board of Trustees — and the first person of color to hold this distinction. She is also the author of a new book titled “From Ally to Accomplice: How to Lead as a Fierce Antiracist.”
