S2 E28: A diabetic patient with diarrhoea and vomiting

Variable rate insulin infusion (VRII), also known as sliding scale, is commonly used to stabilise patients' glucose levels whilst they are acutely unwell in hospital. Something which isn't taught in medical school in depth, yet junior doctors are required to understand and prescribe them.

In this episode, Dr Sahil Nichani provides a breakdown of sliding scales to help you understand more about why and when they are used so that when you are asked to prescribe them, you'll have no problems doing so!
