18. The Arise (Sepultura) Episode

On episode 18, Tony Castaneda (former Kyng bassist) a I discuss Sepultura's 1991 classic "Arise." I learned about how Tony discovered Sepultura and why this is his favorite Sepultura record. We discussed how Sepultura came into their own sound on this record and started displaying hints of their Brazilian latin roots and other sounds that were a vision into the future of metal. We rapped a little about Tony’s touring experiences and the OC metal scene back in the day. We also were equally blown away by Sepultura’s “Arise” tour which consisted of 220 shows in 39 countries in 1991 and 92. This and much more on episode 18...
