127 - JOE R. LANSDALE STORY - UP TO MY ASS IN ALLIGATORS

EPISODE 127:“UP TO MY ASS IN ALLIGATORS” – THE JOE R. LANSDALE STORY Author Joe R. Lansdale defined modern genre fiction. Joe’s won multiple awards. He’s author of the movie Bubba-Hotep, Sundance Channel’s Hap a Leonard and written a ton of novels. He joins T. Fox Dunham and Phil Thomas on episode 137 to talk about his writing, career and life. Joe started writing at the age of twenty-one and failed enough to drive anyone off a cliff. But he kept going, kept writing, and with each story, he learned. On the show, he talks about his early work, the discouraging process of starting as a professional author and how he found amazing success. Joe is an inspirational man who not only writes compelling stories but seeks to share his knowledge. This is one of our best episodes, and you don’t want to miss it, especially if you write. Also, David Walton narrates a ghost story sent in by a show fan in Ontario about an encounter with the restless dead in a cemetery. And finish, T. Fox Dunham narrates a classic Joe Lansdale short story about a guy who ends up at the center of shrinking apocalypse: “Shrinkage.” Joe R Lansdale joins Phil and Fox on their countdown to Halloween 2019.  Check out the website at www.whatareyouafraidofpodcast.com DISCLAIMER: All opinions of guests and content do not reflect the opinions of T.
