About 40 million Americans hold student loans and about 70% of bachelor's degree recipients graduate with debt. This debt is second only to home mortgage debt in the U.S. Most people DO NOT have a career that is related to their degree. Most careers DO NOT require a college degree. Lifelong learning is critical, but you don't need to go into debt $20,000 - $150,000 to get a piece of paper.  Formal academic learning, lifelong learning, skills training and wisdom are all different.  You need to know the difference.
