58 | 'IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT’ (1934), BUGS BUNNY, AND NOSTALGIA

‘It Happened One Night’ in 1934: one of the earliest romantic comedies, a forerunner of the screwball style, and one of only three major Oscar’s sweeps. Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert Star in this bus opera that follows an heiress and a journalist as they outrun private detectives and the substantial reward for her safe return. It’s a romp, it’s a classic, and it feels rather familiar since it’s been referenced and reworked countless times since its release. Clark Gable’s character provided the inspiration for Bugs Bunny later in the decade, which is pretty neat. Hit the road with us. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/framesandfools/message
