Ryan Hymas shares why he turned to alcohol and drugs to feel normal as a teen

Ryan Hymas (I Am Recovery) joins Casey Scott and Dr. Matt Woolley to talk about his experiences with early signs of depression as a young teen and how alcohol affected his ability to feel normal.

Then Ryan opens up about his decision to pursue music instead of going on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and how that became a turning point for his substance abuse as he got older.

We also dive into the following years of Ryan's addiction where he began to heavily use hard drugs, his time in a psych ward after experiencing suicidal thoughts, and his first stint with recovery that ended with Ryan running away from the program after not taking recovery seriously.

Ryan also shares the rock bottom moment of his addiction and his recovery journey after spending years addicted to drugs and alcohol.
