The PANDEMIC Podcast with Judson - Episode 82 - Two Americas

The Battle Hymn of the Republic seems like such a unifying song, yet its fame traces back to the first American Civil War as a battle cry during a time of great division. Are we in two Americas today? Dr. Fauci would have us believe that, as officials push for more vaccinations. Judson then addresses an article by Doyle McManus entitled "We’re two Americas, vaccinated and unvaccinated. College football could fix that." But is this type of thinking tyrannical? The idea of two Americas is not new, and Judson addresses the historical in this episode - the conflict between the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists, or those who would favor an American nationalism vs. a more local approach that decentralizes power. Meanwhile, the news announces that American troops have withdrawn from Afghanistan. The topics are woven in between segments of Judson's acoustic interpretation of the famous civil war song who's words are credited to Julia Ward Howe.
