Team Deccan Tales wishes its listeners a happy, healthy and a fulfilling year ahead. Listening to a podcast, audiobooks or streaming music during commutes or at work is a growing trend in India, thanks to the high penetration of internet & smartphones. But along with that, it has also given listeners the flexibility to choose topics of their interest, languages and the convenience of listening to audio content at their leisure.  There are 22 major languages in India, written in 13 different scripts, with over 720 dialects. Deccan Tales intends to deliver entertaining stories to its listeners in most South Indian languages, starting with Marathi, which is spoken primarily in Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Andra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, some parts of Tamil Nadu. By now you must have guessed that our first show is based on Indology, the study of ancient Indian history, literature, civilisations and deities. Saniya Mane, the host of this show and Founder of Pathil Heritage is a Symbian. After completing B.Sc. in Statistics from Fergusson College, Pune. She pursued a career in Indology (M.A.), as her wanderlust and curiosity for exploring people, history and culture couldn't confine her to a corporate cubical. She began her journey by arranging local heritage tours in & around Pune under the banner of her outfit - Pathil Heritage, which today is a respected name in the commercial heritage tourism in India. During this journey of establishing a business in a category which frankly never existed, Saniya came across a lot of comical & inspiring moments. Moments that opened her eyes to how most of her fellow countrymen are ignorant and mistaught about their ancient Indian history. Compared to European & south-east Asian tourists, who come prepared to a heritage site and have self-educated themselves with some basics. During this episode, Saniya & Kaadambarie unfold what's in store for us listeners in this season and how they have structured an English monologue on Monday's and a Marathi monologue on Wednesday's, which is built-up to a conversation with a subject matter expert during Friday's episode.  You can follow Saniya on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @pathilheritageTo stay updated on our upcoming shows or to share your feedback, we are there on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @deccantales or you could also email us at info@deccantales.comYou can listen to our shows on most podcasting apps, music streaming platforms, our YouTube channel or you could head to our website https://deccantales.comCredits- Scripting & Direction: Amol Agvekar & Kaadambarie Joshi- Host: Saniya Mane, Founder of Pathil Heritage- Recording & Mixing: Sound Magix Studio, Pune- Media Relations & Marketing: Bhuushan Paalkar - Social Media Management: Rahul Maniar & Abhishek Huilgol- Graphics & Publicity Design: Arjavi Gogate From everyone at Deccan Tales - Happy Listening!
