Season 1, Episode 3: The Angels Share - Dusty Hunting with Caroline Paulus
In this episode of The Angels Share, the Angels come to you from the speakeasy at Justins’ House of Bourbon (JHOB) in Lexington where they spend some time hanging out, chatting, and drinking dusties with Caroline Paulus, Whiskey Historian of JHOB, and Senior Editor of The Bourbon Review.
Caroline talks with the Angels about how she got her start in the Bourbon industry and she also sheds some light on her 9-5 job at JHOB. She also gives some tips for detecting defects and counterfeits as well as some factors to consider for those interested in hunting for vintage bourbons.
The Angels also sample a variety of dusties including one of Caroline’s favorite vintage pours available at the JHOB tasting bar: Grist Mill. Stacey also shares some dusties from her personal collection – 2 different vintages of Stitzel-Weller’s Old Commonwealth from 1979 and 1982.
And to close out the show on a more modern note, Caroline shares the latest upcoming barrel picks and releases from JHOB, including their most recent release - the Blackwood Toasted Bourbon.
