Blacks In Travel & Tourism
We’re kicking off Black History Month with Blacks in Travel and Tourism!
Joining us this week is Stephanie M. Jones, Founder of Blacks in Travel & Tourism. Tune in as we discuss diversity and inclusion in travel and how the national Blacks in Travel & Tourism Collaborative has been an instrumental part of the evolution of travel.
“Culture is forever changing and reflecting what’s happening in the society and with its people. It can be born from the arts, music, food, and sometimes politics and strife.” There is a tradition in Ghana called “Kasa” Time. Kasa is a Twi word that means Speak. This is a time when the community or family will gather and speak to one another to share history. It’s normally the elders speaking to the younger generation to keep the history and traditions alive. We’re adopting this tradition to have a “Kasa” time of our own and speak with some of our group members who are in Ghana to have them share their experiences.
