Greenways: A Path to Mobility, Health, and Economic Investment
Greenways are more than just a scenic walking or biking trail. They provide alternative transportation, greater mobility, and a healthier lifestyle. In some cities, greenways have been the catalyst for economic investment. Mark Deutschmann will discuss the benefits of greenways, Nashville’s greenways network, and the development of the 23-mile City Central Greenway. Deutschmann is a community builder who has worked with neighbors, city leaders and social profits for 30-plus years revitalizing and creating walkable neighborhoods. Ever engaged in the community, he is the former chair of the Urban Land Institute Nashville, past president of Greenways for Nashville, and the author of One-Mile Radius – Building Community from the Core. Deutschmann founded Village and Core Development and leads The CityLiving Group team.
