Guimi You
Guimi You is as artist who was born in Seoul, South Korea and lives and works in New York. She received her BFA and MFA from the Seoul National University and also received a Masters in painting from the Royal College of Art in London. She has had exhibitions at Kwanhoon Gallery in Seoul, Kakiden Gallery in Tokyo, A.P.T. Gallery in London, Bonington Gallery in Nottingham, Kristian Day in London and her current solo show called ‘Mystical Moist Night Air’ at Monya Rowe Gallery in NYC. In 2016 she attended the residency at the Vermont Studio Center and in 2017 she was a resident at MassMoCA. Brian sat down with Guimi at her show at Monya Rowe and they spoke about her many travels and relocations, playful painting, dancing and even some K-pop.
