Amy Lincoln
Amy Lincoln is a New York-based artist who makes carefully observed and imaginatively colored paintings of plants and the natural world. She has exhibited her work in New York at galleries such as Morgan Lehman and Regina Rex; at Pulse Miami Beach, and at Monya Rowe Gallery in Saint Augustine, FL where she had a solo exhibition in 2016. Lincoln received her MFA in Painting from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, and a BA in Studio Art from the University of California, Davis. She has participated in the Lower Manhattan Swing Space residency, the Inside Out Art Museum artist residency in Beijing as well as the Wave Hill Winter Workspace in NYC. Her work has been reviewed in Hyperallergic, The New Criterion, Two Coats of Paint and The Brooklyn Rail. Brian met up with Amy at her studio in Glendale, Queens and they talked about critiques, kids, insomnia, swing dancing and a lot more.
