Our featured students are Dylan Mead and Adrei Barret from Century High School. They have won top honors in the National Scholastic Art Awards contest. Dylan won a Gold Medal and American Visions Award for his painting “Graded,” and a Silver Medal for his portfolio of six artworks “A Generation of Problems.” The American Visions Award is the top honor in our region, awarded to just one work of art in Oregon. Andrei won a Gold Medal for his painting “Fruity,” and a Silver Medal for his painting “Kung Flu.” Art teacher Eleanor Clagett remarks: “It has been such an honor to work with these artists and it is so gratifying to see their talents and hard work recognized in this way!” Way to go, Dylan and Andrei! You make us Proud to be HSD!
