At some point, if you’re estranged long enough, something will come up that will make you wonder, “Is it okay to contact him about this?”
This is not an easy decision for estranged parents. Especially if your child has asked you to reduce or eliminate contact for the time being, should you go against her wishes in special cases? And what constitutes a special case?
