Three years ago Steve Malik made bold statements about a downtown soccer stadium and bringing MLS to Raleigh. This time around the location is different, the message is tweaked a little, and the latest plans and drawings are about much more than a soccer stadium.We were fortunate to sit down with Malik, the NCFC owner and chairman, as he was officially announcing plans for Downtown South, a new development near I40/440 and S. Saunders Street, just south of downtown Raleigh (hence the name).
