During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947, he defended a vital post at Richhmar Gali, earning him the prestigious Param Vir Chakra. His historic role in hoisting India's flag after independence further cements his legacy as a patriot. Rising through the ranks, he retired as an honorary captain in 1969, leaving behind a legacy of bravery and sacrifice.
