The Pedalshift Project 214: GAP 4x44 Loop - Day 1
The GAP 4x44 Loop tour begins with some question marks about heat and hydration, and oh yeah... a 24 mile climb to the eastern continental divide. With no climbing in my bicycling since 2019, could I haul me and a fully loaded bike up that hill? It seems hard to believe I hadn't bike toured on anything except the CaO in six months. SIX months! I love me some CaO, but if you're like me variety helps keep me sane. So in August 2020, still in the midst of a global pandemic that was sticking around the US longer than any of us wanted, I figured out a safe and responsible way to roll on a different trail.... the Great Allegheny Passage. And due to some lucky happenstance, I could do a loop where each day was a convenient and Syracuse University numerology-friendly 44 milles (#GoOrange). Photos Check out Pedalshift on Instagram!
