Season 1 Episode 4 - Talking Artistry with the Bold City Plumber
It's one thing to learn a trade. It's another thing entirely to take what you've learned and execute it daily in a manner that sets you apart from the rest of the pack. I saw a post on my friend Steve "Hoosier Sparky's" page one day that stuck with me (it's actually a quote from St. Francis os Assisi). It said something to the tune of "He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist." I like that statement and I try to live by it. Today's conversation was with Chris Ramos, who goes by @bold_cityplumber on IG. Chris is a talented plumber who approaches his work with an artistic eye. We talked about the difference between a technician and an artist, how he got into the plumbing trade and how the trades may be an excellent outlet for minorities and other Americans who feel like college is getting further and further outside of their financial means.
