The story begins with Adam, portrayed by Andrew Scott, a reclusive screenwriter who is visited by his neighbor Harry, played by Paul Mescal, after a fire alarm goes off in their apartment complex. Notably, Adam and Harry are the only occupants of this tall building. When Harry, inebriated, tries to flirt with him, Adam politely rejects his advances.
