Tantra Principle 3: Tapas & Spanda w/ Tru

“The dynamic between tapas (containment) and spanda (the life force) is at the heart of the process of birth and transformation.” - Swami Ravi, Kali Rising

Swami Ravi talks about tapas as being similar to the banks of a river. Move them closer together and water (the spanda) moves more rapidly. Broaden the banks and the water moves more slowly.

In life, the ways in which we maneuver our tapas will affect how spanda moves through us.

This principle is one in which I very much enjoy playing. I love the interconnectedness. I love how one affects the other. I love how seemingly simple changes to the tapas of an experiment can affect spanda in really huge ways.

I’m honored and overjoyed to have Tru with us to explain their understanding of tapas and spanda.

Tru is one of my beloved teachers, a sacred intimate, and a sex and intimacy coach. Tru is also a teacher of a movement meditation practice, an artist (Tru does pottery), and a dancer. Tru is based in the Seattle area. You can find more information about Tru at https://www.tenderfiercetemple.com/.
