Introduction to the 7 Principles of Tantra from Kali Rising w/ Arabella Champaq

In the book Kali Rising, Swami Ravi Rudra Bharati (formerly Rudolph Ballentine), outlines seven principles of tantra. These principles are not written down in some ancient text, rather they are teachings that he has used in his life, as a student of tantra with Swami Rama, and as a teacher to many.

In this podcast series, I have invited several of my own tantra teachers to explain one of the principles. All of these teachers have studied with Swami Ravi and bring forward their own unique experiences and learnings from the principles.

In this episode, Arabella Champaq introduces the principles to us and explains why we have them and what they can do for us.

In 1976, Arabella was initiated by Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, a Sufi Master of the Chishti Order, and studied with him for 25 years.

Eventually, she began searching for a more integrated path, one that included all parts of her being. She longed for a spiritual path that addressed the disconnect between spirit and body, between God and Pleasure, between what we believe and how we live.

She began an exploration of sacred sexuality, which led her to tantra. In tantra, she has discovered the perfect marriage of the sacred and the profane, of the inner and outer worlds, of the fact that she has both an innate desire for the transcendent state and experiences extended orgasms.

She studies with Swami Ravi Rudra Bharati (a.k.a. Rudy Ballentine), a student of Swami Rama. She has taught meditation, led retreats, classes, and workshops since 1985.
