In 1889, Francesca Cabrini found herself working at a small institution in Italy. She had dreams of serving in China, but Pope Leo XIII had a different plan for her. He gave his blessing for her to establish a Catholic Mission in New York City. Despite the challenges of limited resources and support, Cabrini bravely took on the task. She chose to work in the Five Points neighborhood, known for its poverty, crime, and vice. With the help of Fr. Morelli, she defied the doubts of Archbishop Corrigan and other Church leaders.
