News from Hollywood first.Morgan Freeman and Juliette Binoche to star in new thriller Veteran Hollywood actors Morgan Freeman and Juliette Binoche are set to play the lead roles in the upcoming thriller film Paradise Highway. The film is written and directed by Anna Gutto, and it revolves around a human trafficking ring. Produced by Lionsgate, the film also stars Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Warrior star Frank Grillo. It will be released on streaming platforms as a video-on-demand service on the 29th of July.Mike Flanagan’s new horror mini-series set for Netflix releaseAcclaimed horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan, credited for Doctor Sleep, The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and Midnight Mass will release a new horror mini-series for Netflix. Titled, The Fall of the House of Usher, the series is based on Edgar Allan Poe’1839 anthology, Tales of the Grotesque and Arabesque. Rahul Kohli and Flanagan’s wife Kate Siegell, who previously collaborated with the filmmaker on several projects, will play the lead roles. The series has wrapped production and is expected to release on Netflix later this year or early 2023. John Abraham film Tehran begins filmingThe highly anticipated film, Tehran, starring Bollywood star John Abraham has begun filming. Helmed by the creators of Badlapur, Stree, and Mimi, the film is set to be an action-thriller loosely based on true events. Directed by Arun Gopalan and written by Prakash Verma and Ritesh Shah, the film is a geopolitical thriller which delves into the Russian-Ukraine conflict and the roles of China and Iran in the ongoing war. Abraham is also busy with another project titled Mike. He will serve as a producer in the Malayalam film directed by Vishnu Sivaprasad. The film is set to be a coming-of-age story starring newcomer Ranjith Sajeev, along with Anaswara Rajan, Jinu Joseph, Sini Abraham, and Akshay Radhakrishnan.   OTT and theatrical releases for this weekKung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight 14th JulyThe sequel series to the hit Kung Fu Panda franchise is set to release on Netflix on the 14th of July. Jack Black will reprise his role as the titular character as he teams up with the new warrior called the Wandering Blade, played by Rita Ora, to save the world from a catastrophe. Resident Evil: 14th JulyThe latest adaptation of Capcom’s hit Resident Evil series will be available to stream on Netflix on the 14th of July. The series will be a reimagination of this zombie story set 30 years after the infamous Umbrella Corporation discovered the T-virus.Uncharted : 12th JulyYet another iconic video-game adaptation, is set for a Netflix release this week. Uncharted, starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, based on Naughty Dog’s iconic action-adventure video games will be available to stream from the 12th of July.Vaashi :17th July Minnal Murali star Tovino Thomas essays the role of a lawyer in a courtroom drama titled Vaashi. The feature film also stars Keerthy Suresh in the lead and will stream exclusively on Netflix on the 17th.  Jaadugar: 15th JulyPanchayat star Jitendra Kumar will star in a new feature film titled Jaadugar. The plot revolves around a local magician who must win a local football tournament in order to marry the girl of his dreams. The film will be released on Netflix this Friday, the 15th. The Gray ManThe highly-anticipated espionage thriller The Gray Man, directed by the Russo brothers, is set for a theatrical release on the 15th. The film features a star-studded ensemble of Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page, Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Julia Butters, Alfre Woodard, Billy Bob Thornton, and Tamil superstar Dhanush. It will also be released on Netflix a week later on the 22nd. Shabaash Mithu - BollywoodTaapsee Pannu will essay the role of the former Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj in the sports drama biopic Shabaash Mithu.
