Ridley Scott developing Blade Runner sequel series for Amazon Studios Ridley Scott is set to helm a sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s 2017 film Blade Runner 2049. The adaptation will be a TV series for Amazon Studios and will see Scott returning to the iconic franchise after directing the first film in 1982. Silka Luisa who is attached to the upcoming Apple TV+ TV show Shining Girls, starring Elisabeth Moss, will write and executive produce Blade Runner 2099 alongside Scott. Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman dies at 75The iconic director of popular films such as Ghostbusters and Dave, Ivan Reitman, has passed away at the age of 75. His family confirmed in a joint statement that he died peacefully in his sleep at his home in California on Saturday night.Reitman is credited with directing genre-defining comedies such as Twins, Kindergarten Cops, and Meatballs. Star Wars spin-off series Ahsoka adds Ray Stevenson The upcoming live-action Star Wars series, Ahsoka, has cast Vikings star, Ray Stevenson, in an important role. Daredevil and Luke Cage star Rosario Dawson will reprise her role from the Star Wars animated adaptations as the titular character. She has also had guest appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett as Ahsoka Tano. Tamil film Vilangu starring Vimal announces OTT release dateThe upcoming Tamil web series, Vilangu, starring Vimal and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is set for a February 18 release date on the Zee5 streaming platform. Prasanth Pandiyaraj has directed the project, and it will be an investigative drama. Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence is close to extending his contract with WBBill Lawrence, who co-created the hit Apple TV+ comedy show Ted Lasso has extended his partnership with WB by signing a new long term five-year deal with the company.
