Summary

Approximately 50% of patients with heart failure (HF) have preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), and the prevalence of HFpEF relative to HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) has been increasing by about 1% per year. If this trend continues, HFpEF will become the most common type of HF in the near future. Early diagnosis and treatment of HFpEF are important to help prevent hospitalizations and complications, especially because new treatment options are available that improve outcomes for patients with HFpEF.

In this 3-part educational podcast series moderated by Dr. Alanna Morris, expert faculty discuss the management of HFpEF and incorporating evolving data into practice. In part 2, Dr. Javed Butler and Dr. Alanna Morris discuss the latest data regarding new and emerging therapies for the treatment of HFpEF.
