Scientific data shows that the 'worst case' scenario actually didn't come true, and students are still making progress in reading. However, the picture is not so rosy in math. Lewis also acknowledges that students in more disadvantaged, poorer areas and minorities struggled more with education during the pandemic for various reasons, including technological deficiencies.
