Catherine has chosen the 1977 Rankin/Bass animated feature The Hobbit (78 mins). The film includes the voices of Orson Bean, John Huston and Otto Preminger.
Sam and Catherine discuss Tolkien's attitude towards adaptations of his work, the high-profile voice cast and the potted history of Gandalf's horse Shadowfax.
